Gaza Ceasefire Shattered: 4,091 Israeli Violations Leave 1,254 Dead

The Gaza Government Media Office reported on August 6 that Israeli forces committed 4,091 ceasefire violations over the past 300 days, resulting in the deaths of 1,254 Palestinians. The report also documents 4,121 injuries and the illegal detention of 159 citizens, according to telesurenglish.net.

These systematic breaches directly undermine the security agreements established ten months ago, perpetuating constant warfare against the civilian population. Local authorities stress that the occupying forces’ actions go beyond direct military confrontations, enforcing a restrictive policy on basic resources that blocks food, medicine, and emergency assistance for millions trapped in the besieged enclave.

Severe Humanitarian Blockade

The statistical database from the Gaza Government Media Office shows that Israeli authorities allowed only 63,094 humanitarian aid trucks to enter, a mere 35% of the 180,000 vehicles originally projected under the humanitarian agreement. This leaves the population in extreme vulnerability.

Restrictions at the Rafah crossing remain equally severe. The occupation forces authorized passage for only 10,703 travelers out of the estimated 27,400 since the border opened, reflecting a critical 39% execution rate that traps thousands of medical patients and students inside the territory.

Furthermore, the arbitrary detention of 159 Palestinians during the declared truce demonstrates systematic disregard for human rights. Legal organizations state these detentions occurred without clear charges, violating international law and the specific clauses of the negotiated ceasefire.

Continuous Military Attacks

Simultaneously with the report’s publication, Israeli forces launched new bombardments and ground incursions across multiple sectors of Gaza. Ground vehicles and artillery units opened intense fire in specific humanitarian zones, shattering the fragile calm.

Local journalists confirmed that Israeli military vehicles targeted the southern region of Al-Mawasi, a designated safe zone, wounding at least one civilian. Similar aggressive operations occurred in the western and northeastern outskirts of Khan Younis, near Rafah, and close to the Al-Bureij refugee camp.

The official administration of the Gaza Strip strongly condemned these hostile operations, defining them as a deliberate campaign to maximize civilian suffering and destroy public infrastructure. Authorities called on international mediators and sponsors of the peace agreement to compel Israel to respect its commitments immediately and stop these systematic violations.

After 300 days of nominal truce, the realities on the ground show that the Gaza humanitarian crisis is worsening daily.
